Hi everyone, My name is Amr. I was born in Beirut, Lebanon in March, 1975. My family moved to live in Aleppo - Syria which is our family original home city after the beginning of Lebanon civil war. I grew up in Aleppo which I still like mostly.

I used to go to a former American school (Aleppo College) for my elementary, secondary and high school. I spent there more than 12 years. I had unforgettable days there. Hard days in the midterms and finals. Joyful days of picnics and vacations. I was always such a hard working student. I got a lot of friends and teachers there whom I can never forget. I graduated from the high school in 1993.

I started my professional studies as an Information and Computer Engineer in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aleppo University - Syria. Although the university is not that powerful, however, I learned a lot there and what ever people say I can not deny the university role in my current proficiency. The university showed me the way, but I myself with a group of friends continued that way. We studied a lot of computer related subjects outside of the university classrooms. We concentrated on the computer programming field. Which is my hobby also. While continuing my education I got two certificates from Aleppo Technical Institute. (C++ and Object Pascal). My graduation project was a complete home automation system that controls a number of the home appliances remotely by using the PC. I got the best grade in that year for this project. I consider my undergraduate days in Aleppo university are the happiest days in my life. Because I met there my current faithful friends with whom I share my happy and sad moments. I graduated in 1998.

I served two mandatory years in the Syrian military service. I am very happy now that I did it and passed it successfully. I finished the service in 1999. Just a month after my father had passed away :-(

I traveled to the United States in October 2000 to complete my software programming studies. I passed the TOEFL and the GRE entrance exams within my first 3 months at the UNCC (www.uncc.edu) in Charlotte , NC. I had applied and been accepted in a number of good US universities for a masters in computer science major. After reviewing these universities program I chose the best one that suit my ambitions which is DePaul (www.depaul.edu).

In the beginning of year 2001 I moved to Chicago, IL to start my long dreaming Masters in Software Engineering at the largest school of Computer Science, Telecommunication and Information technology in the whole United States which is DePaul CTI (www.cs.depaul.edu). I am still living, working, playing in Chicago where I got also some good friends here. ;-)
